Whole Body Vibration Therapy (WBVT)
WBVT reportedly began as early as 3000 B.C. in India and was later used by the ancient Greeks as a meditation tool. In more modern times, the Russian space program experimented with vibration platforms as a way to help astronauts maintain muscle and bone mass while in space. Shortly thereafter these platforms become popular in fitness clubs and rehabilitation clinics in Europe. Early on, Pace West PT recognized the value of WBVT in the clinical setting. We were the first clinic in Boulder to purchase the commercial Vibrogym and use it as part of a comprehensive exercise program for our patients. WBVT helps retrain the brain to perform enhanced body biomechanics/movement by involuntarily contracting muscles at a rapid pace. But that’s not all it can do. WBVT can also provide the following health benefits:

- Increase muscle strength
- Reduce bone wasting
- Improve circulation
- Eliminate inflammation
- Enhance flexibility
- Provide stress relief
- Shorten post workout recovery
- Speed healing of sprains, strains, and fractures
- Maximize reaction time and balance
